Senior Research Associate
Martina Viarengo is Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva. She is Senior Research Associate at the Labor and Worklife Program at the Harvard Law School. She also serves as faculty associate at the Harvard University, Center for International Development. Prior to joining the Graduate Institute's faculty, Prof. Viarengo was an economist at the Centre for Economic Performance of the London School of Economics and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government. Her research focuses on public policy, labor markets and economic development. In 2018 she was awarded with the Eisenhower Fellowship. In 2013, Dr. Viarengo was selected to be a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. She also is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and was named Newton International Fellow by the British Academy, Royal Society and Royal Academy of Engineering. She holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University.
